Young Money

Fantastic News! Young Money has now been extended for a further three years. Young Money has been running since April '06, and the Government have now extended the funds, after a successful first two years, until March 2011.

This means that we have another £200,000 per year available for you to spend. And for those of you who didn't know, this funding is available to anyone aged 13-19 living in Portsmouth (PO1-PO6).

The money can be spent on anything that will increase things to do or places to go for young people in Portsmouth. Amongst some of the things we funded last year was air-time for a young people's radio show, fencing equipment to set up groups in Milton, new equiment for some of our Youth Clubs, scuba diving lessons, and residential trips. (For more information on previous years projects see our progress update).

The Youth Affairs Unit is operating Young Money on behalf of Portsmouth City Council. This funding is part of the Youth Opportunities Fund and the Youth Capital Fund, and has come from the Government. If you live outside the Portsmouth area, please contact your local council for details on the fund.
